In her free time, Jane enjoys exploring a variety of creative pursuits. Her drawings, photography, and paintings hang in numerous galleries and private collections throughout the United States and Europe. She is also an avid gardener and gourmet cook and loves to travel.
Denise has over 30 years of interior design experience and, to hear her tell it, she’s loved every minute. “There’s something different everyday. No two homes are ever the same, and no two clients ever have the same needs or tastes, which makes this work very fun and exciting.”
Working at the Washington Design Center after graduation, Denise gained a wealth of knowledge on the wholesale end of design. She worked for Stroheim & Romann, a high-end decorative fabric showroom. Before coming to Bountiful, Denise honed her skills at several other top design firms in the region.
Chesapeake Views, Cottage Journal, and Home & Design are a few of the publications in which Denise’s work has been featured. She is also the “go to” designer for any home staging projects. Whether requested by home owner or real estate agent, Denise’s talent for making a home feel warm and inviting often lights the spark for potential buyers, helping to make the sale.
Denise’s design portfolio includes homes in Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, and throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She was also an allied member of ASID for many years, and acted as the Secretary for the Eastern Shore Chapter.

In spite of a long career in marketing and advertising, Jackie may have been born to be in retail. “I truly love selling–the more involved or complicated the sale, the more I enjoy it,” she says.
For Jackie customers always come first and her enthusiasm for meeting each individual customer’s needs never seems to wane. She knows the store like the back of her hand and delights in helping all comers find the perfect gifts, home accents, or furniture.
Alec came to the Shore when he was a young child and took to our way of life immediately. He’s convinced that no day spent on a boat is wasted. When you can pry him away from the water, you’re likely to find him at a concert or sporting event.
Prior to joining Bountiful, Don worked for Keystone Country Furniture in Pennsylvania. There he learned how to build and finish furniture, a craft that he continues to enjoy.
He and his team are also responsible for the ever-changing face of Bountiful. Whether it’s adding yet another coat of paint to the walls or helping the staff create interesting, new displays, you’ll find him in the middle of it.
There’s little down time for Marty. When he’s not at Bountiful, he’s working for UPS. Whatever spare time he has is devoted to working on a graphic novel. There are never enough hours in the day for all of the reading, writing and drawing that he really wants to do.

Barbara came to Bountiful 10 years ago after moving to Easton from Washington DC. Over her long career, she has worked as a flight attendant, taught school, and started her own business, a children’s consignment shop. The majority of Barbara’s career was spent in health related positions. She worked in George Washington University’s Lipid Research Clinic and spent 10 years as a recruiter for the Women’s Health Initiative Study. Barbara has also worked as a counselor for women with pregnancy and drug addiction problems. When she is not traveling the country to spend time with her three children and many grandchildren, she volunteers her time at Easton’s Memorial Hospital emergency room.
Barbara, who says that she has “loved every day of my time at Bountiful,” engages every one she meets with steady, thoughtful grace. In addition to having a good understanding of everything we sell, Barbara understands people and works hard to meet their needs.
Ellen oversees our 2,200 square-foot sister store, Bountiful Flooring. She’s stocked it with some of the best brand names in the market for carpeting, area rugs, tile, natural stone, hardwood, engineered wood, laminates and vinyl. Ellen, knows her products well and works collaboratively with customers to determine the best products for their particular needs. She also works closely with contractors and installers to ensure a perfect finished product.
Ellen has garnered many flooring and window treatment awards for product knowledge, professionalism, and salesmanship. She works hard and means it when she says that her primary goal is “to be the best that I can be at my job.”
For Ellen, being the best has meant learning how to install flooring products herself so that she can know what it takes to do the job right. She is also a certified Hunter Douglas installer and goes on every installation she sells.
For Ellen, “Being the best” means tempering her hard work with an easy-going sense of humor and an unflappable resolve to make the experience a good one for everyone involved.
Martha grew up in Baltimore and learned to love the Eastern Shore while boating with her family. After graduating from the University of Virginia, she spent 25 years on Wall Street as an institutional equities sales trader. When she left New York she headed for the Eastern Shore and to Bountiful, where she has worked since 2004. Martha’s community involvement includes five years spent as a coordinator for Food Link of Talbot County, an organization that links grocery stores and restaurants to the area’s food pantries.
Paula’s experience with home furnishings and interior design began 25 years ago when she began working for POSH Interiors in Great Falls, VA and at Reston Town Center.
While with POSH she worked as a merchandiser, buyer, and store manager. Paula understands how the home furnishings industry works and is always eager to help customers explore all the options Bountiful has to offer. Outside of work, Paula is involved with her church and volunteers with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
About fifteen years ago, customers at Bountiful, Jamie Merida’s trendy, Easton, Maryland home furnishings store, began to request—forcefully request—his help with their interior design projects. Merida was a bit puzzled. The shop had no design studio and he no formal interior design training. Intrigued and flattered, he decided to give it a go, throwing himself headlong and talent-first into the effort.
Today, Merida’s design portfolio features high end homes and vacation residences in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, New York, Idaho, and Europe as well as a roster of commercial commissions which have included venerable hotels, restaurants, and professional office space. “Responding to a broad range of clients needs really is exciting,” he says. “You can never coast when you’re faced with new design challenges all of the time.”
Carol Wheeler joined our design team in February 2016. She came to us after spending over 25 years as a successful designer in New England and our own Eastern Shore. Prior to joining Bountiful, she worked at Jean McHale Design and Wright’s Interiors in Easton.
Carol is an accomplished and versatile designer who is comfortable working collaboratively with clients in residential, commercial and nonprofit environments. She attributes her comfort with all types of clients to her commitment to collaborative design.
“Collaboration is key and I really listen to my clients so I can design around their needs,” Carol says. “Interior design is like a jigsaw puzzle where all of the pieces—style, color, function and budget—need to fit together perfectly.”
Amanda came to Bountiful after moving to the Eastern Shore from Philadelphia where she ran her own successful design firm. Prior to that, she worked as the lead designer in a New Jersey firm that specialized in custom yachts.
We’re proud of the fact that her peers have repeatedly recognized the quality of Amanda’s work. She has given design seminars in New York, Connecticut, the British Virgin Islands, and on Nantucket. Her interiors have also been published in several yachting magazines.
Amanda began her career in fine arts working with legends like Roy Lichtenstein and Robert Rauschenberg. She says: “They taught me how to see and think like an artist. They used traditional elements in nontraditional ways in their art. I continue to apply this technique to my interior design work, which I see as creating three-dimensional art.”
